Dave Saddler, Senior EVT at our Surrey, BC branch was recently presented with The City of Pitt Meadows 2020 Community Service Award. Dave has lived in Pitt Meadows since 1985. Nominations for this award are put forward by the citizens of Pitt Meadows and the recipient is chosen by City Council. The Community Service Award is bestowed upon a citizen who demonstrates exemplary leadership and/or outstanding community service with no regard for personal gain.
The Community Service Award recognizes Dave for his “selfless commitment to protecting the safety of Pitt Meadows for over 34 years. He joined the Pitt Meadows Fire Department as a volunteer in 1986 (he will celebrate 35 years with the department in June 2021) and was appointed Assistant Chief in May 2019. In addition to emergency call-outs at all hours of the day and night, Dave spends many hours training and also contributes a considerable amount of time to community events and fundraising activities.
The hours that Dave dedicates to The City of Pitt Meadows is time that he finds in his schedule above and beyond being a husband and father to 4 grown “children”, as well as his full-time job as Senior EVT with Commercial Emergency Equipment. Dave demonstrates the same dedication and commitment to his co-workers and customers.
Please join us in congratulating Dave on this well deserved award.
